Map of new parcels at the Marshall Creek
Helleday, Adrianus Hendricus
Title Leupe: Naadere kaart en rapport, specterende de nieuw te begeeven landeryen in de Marchals kreek en of dezelve tot nadeel konde strekken voor de Houtgrond Weltevreden C.A. met eenige veranderingen.
This map provides an overview of the plantations and woodlands upstream of the confluence of the Suriname River with the Marechals Creek, close to Weltevreden and Bergendal. It was made by the surveyor Adrianus Hendricus Helledaij (also: Helleday) in connection with the assignment of new woodlands on the creek. This edition is a nearly exact copy of VEL1697 which uses a different font. Only the text surrounding the Mama Creek at the upper left corner is missing. Helledaij arrived in Surinam in 1768 and died in Paramaribo in 1787.
North is lower right.
Scale-bar of 410 chains at 66 Rhineland feet = [approximately 1 : 65,000].
