This map shows the surroundings of a piece of land near Paramaribo belonging to the Society of Suriname. The land is directly surrounded by three savannas, beyond which lay numerous forests which are all designated on the map. Between the letters A-D and Q the main road to Paramaribo stretches out. Between A and N lies an abandoned path. Between the two As and Ns the border with the Wilhelmsburg and Ferdinandus plantations are drawn. Between the Bs, Cs and Ds lay numerous wells. In addition, a recently cutlivated piece of land of 10 Surinamese acres (4,3 hectares) for banana trees is shown between the letters D and E. Several reference numbers are given for the land of the Society itself, which are all explained in the index on the upper right.
