Tolcksburg Battery at the St. Barbara Bay, also known as the Spaanse water (Spanish water), was completed in 1636. The battery was part of the larger defensive system of the island. The low battery made of coral and clay mortar, housed a small garrison. The battery fell into disuse shortly after it was built.
