This is sheet number 4 from a series on the North Atlantic Ocean (VEL98A-C). The west coast of Africa around the equator is drawn here. Gerard Hulst van Keulen likely printed the map in preparation of his atlas ‘De nieuwe groote lichtende zee-fakkel’ from 1790. Note three routes from Europe to the south can be found on sea. Ports and seabanks are indicated and the map was composed based on rhumb lines.

North is up.
