The bird's eye map is based on the plate from Van Linschoten, 'Itinerario, voyage ofte schipvaert van Jan H. van Linschoten', Amsterdam 1596, p. 42. Koninklijke Bibliotheek, inv. nr. 1702 B 4 part I. The view is copied in Koninklijke Bibliotheek, inv. nr. 227 K 1 part 3, after p. 62.
Elephants on the quay are being used at pack animals.
