View of a river with several boats and anglers. Some of the anglers stand waist deep in the water. A large net has been spanned between poles, and next to is a rowboat with a canopy, a richly decorated mirror and a large Dutch flag with pennant. On the riverbank to the right are three cows, while the other banks are overgrown with bushes.
