This draft is part of a series (VEL1462-VEL1472), constituting a plan to fortify the Piscadera, Saint Michiel and Porto Marie Bays with a small battery and fort. The design for a bastion shown here improves earlier sketches by decreasing the angles of the corners, enlarging the sidewalls and deepening the canals. These improvements are depicted through a profile and a floor plan.
