Map of lots between the coast and the Cottica River

Title Leupe: Schetskaart van de landen tusschen Post Oranien en de mond der Kreek.

This map show part of the area between the sea coast and the Cottica east of the Tapoeripa Canal, most of which was only reclaimed after c. 1785.

The survey was requested by Sir Dirck van der Meij to document the area he was to inherit.

The map was never completed and the references to it in the notes cannot be traced on it.

The survey is part of a larger project which is depicted on VEL1954, to which the land surveyor refers in the notes right of the map.

The land surveyor signed the map of 12 September 1796.

A sketch version of this map, VEL1957A, has not been separately included in the AMH.

Scale of 150 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 185 ‘strepen’.
