Map of the Bleyenhoop plantation

Title Leupe: Kaart van de Plantagie Bleyenhoop.

This map shows the Bleyenhoop plantation (indicated by the letters A-H) located north of of the River Cottica. The extent of the land measures 2250 Surinamese acres (967,5 hectares). Creeks run towards the river and a residence has been constructed next to the place where the flow into it. The Luijnenburg Plantation lies to the east of the depicted land (to the left on the map) and the property of Jan de Marees to its west (to the right on the map). The map was signed by the surveyor on 4 March 1734 and it was ratified on 28 January 1736 in Paramaribo. Scale of 100 Chains of 5 ½ Rhineland rods = 135 ‘strepen’.
