This 1742 map by or after Godfried Carel Esdré and Carel Gustaaf Schrijver covers the empty coastline on either side of Groot and Klein Sint Jan Bays, halfway between Sint Anna Bay in the west and Porto Marie with Bullen Bay to the east. Neither the engineers nor Captain Cornelis Schrijver planned any fortifications here, and neither were batteries constructed here later.
