Title Leupe: Kaart van het Eyland Curaçao.
Very probably this large 1754 copy map by the otherwise unknown S. Geerts was intended to be a general map of Curaçao accompanying a series of detailed site maps and project plans of the fortification of the south coast by the same hand. These were drawn in the same year, shortly before the outbreak of the Seven Years’ War, on the orders of Director Isaac Faesch (1740-1758).
North is upper left.
