This is sheet number 1 from a series on the North Atlantic Ocean (VEL98A-C). The east coast of North America is drawn here. Gerard Hulst van Keulen likely printed the map in preparation of his atlas De nieuwe groote lichtende zee-fakkel from 1790. Note the Gulf of St. Lawrence contains most details. Ports and seabanks are indicated and the map was composed based on rhumb lines.
