Mirzapore lay on the west bank of the Hougly river, north of Murshidabad. The VOC maintained an office here on a leasehold basis. Mirzapore also boasted a hospital where the sick VOC employees of Bengal were treated. In addition the VOC employees were able to buy all kinds of foodstuffs and clothing at the local bazaar.
