The VOC post at Muijsenburg was also known as 'Hoek van de Steenberg'. The name Muisenberg is first noted in documents dating from 1744. Various buildings, including a post house, were built down the years. Muisenberg was favourably located for shipping traffic between the Cape and Simon's Bay.
