Traitors are skewered alive after the fall of Baticaloa on May 18, 1638.

The Dutch had joined forces with the inhabitants of Ceylon against the Portuguese. Subsequently the Dutchman Willem Jacobsz Coster became commander of the fort at Baticaloa.
