This map shows the invasion of Cape Town by the British Lt Gen Sir David Baird on 8 January 1806. The red lines indicate the trajectory of the army and the red dots and squares the military formations. The battle of Blauwberg gains central attention. After his defeat there, the Dutch Governor Jan Willem Janssens fled the region.
