Map of the land of Francois de Vries

Title Leupe: Kaart van eenige landen, gelegen tusschen Perica en Cottica.
This map shows a piece of land (indicated with the letters A-F) belonging to the commander 'of the fortresses and army of this colony' Francois de Vries, which lays north of the Perica river and south of the Cottica river.
The survey was requested by commander Jan Cornelis Francois De Vries de Rayneval himself.
The land turns out to measure 358 Surinamese acres (153,94 hectare).
The land of the heirs of Sir Rayneval lies to the north (to the right on the map) his own land, the land of the clergy and several dwellings lay to its west (above on the map), the land of the widow of Sir Saffo and the plantation of Jan Cleij lies to its east (below on the map).
The map was signed by the land surveyor on 24 June 1731 and ratified on 7 July 1731 in Paramaribo.
Scale of 60 Chains= 138 ‘strepen’.
