Map of the Cordon of Defence

This is one of the last overviews made of the Cordon of Defence. As is mentioned in the annotation on the left, this plan shows how the enemy can be prevented from crossing the Commewijne river. Communication lines and sailing routes were important for this objective as were the fort designs shown on the ground plans and sideviews on the right side of the map. The map at the centre below shows and designates the series of posts on a row.
