Design for a provisions store
This is a design for a new provisions store in the outer fort with two floors constructed completely of brick. This design was approved in December that year and constructed during the next one and a half years, with the planned gables at either end being replaced by chamfered roofs. A decade later, during the first English occupation, the stores were turned into barracks.
At the rear side the following is written: "No. 9, Register 17, deel 1, folio 88.
Taken from: "mission-report of the Governor-General Wichers from 2 June 1790. See the resolution of the meeting of the Society of Suriname of 1 December 1790, where it was approved.”
Scale-bar of 40 Rhineland feet = [approximately 1 : 95].
