Plan of a hospital and accommodation for sick slaves

Title Leupe: Opstel (opstand) der geprojecteerde galderij agter aan militaire hospitaal te Paramaribo.

The anonymous drawing shows a 1789 design for the rear gallery of the main building (A) of the hospital. This was constructed in 1793 and on VEL609 the 1780 project proposal for the pavilion (G) is reproduced. This was built shortly afterwards, intended for the use of ‘Ailing Negroes owned by the [Surinam] Society and the Government’.
