Qeshm

Kismis, now known as Queshm, functioned as the grain store for the town of Gamron (now Bandar Abbas). In 1645 the Company attempted unsuccessfully to capture the fort. The VOC wanted to use it to extract trading concessions from Persia and to protect Gamron. A second attempt in 1684 was successful in capturing the stronghold.
