The king of Candy.

Robert Knox was a British trader captured by the king of Candy in 1659. For twenty years Knox lived in captivity before managing to escape and flee to the city of Arripa, which was in Dutch hands. Once back in London he wrote a book about his captivity. This illustration is taken from that book.
