Ragiamahol was situated on the shores of the Ganges in northern Bengal. Up to and including 1710 the VOC silver was minted into Bengali coin
the carimabad or siccarupiah
in Ragiamahol. The British maintained a presence here from 1750 onwards. Silver was one of the VOC's key import products in India.
