View of Indramago near Buitenzorg

View of Indramago near Buitenzorg, which should not be confused with the coastal town of Indramayou. Anno 2002 the area is known as Kampus IPB Dhamarga, several kilometres north-west of Bogor.

Rach depicts the court of King Demang Jawitara, during a visit by governor-general Van der Parra in 1772.

Behind the building lies a vessel at anchor, flying four Dutch flags in honour of the visit. Demang Jawitara ordered the ship to be built to commemorate his banishment of 12 years to the Cape of Good Hope (ordered by the VOC). The reason for his banishment is unclear.

The area ruled by Demang Jawitara, dermaga, supplied cardamom.
