View of the ship 'Vreedenlust' on the island of Kuiper.

The East Indiaman Vreedenlust has been pulled out of alignment to allow ships' carpenters to repair the damage to its keel. Several hundred male slaves, urged on by men with whips, pull the ship to the required angle.
