Entrance to the wine cellars on the Vergelegen estate, home of W.A. van der Stel in Somerset West.
This was the country estate belonging to Willem Adriaan van der Stel (1664-1723) who succeeded his father Simon van der Stel as governor of the Cape Colony.
The wine cellars date from 1816.
