Title Leupe: Kaart van de Plantagie Frederwout.

This map shows the lot belonging to Captain de Freder (red borders, indicated with the letters A-F) laying north of the Cottica River (i.e. topside of the map).

The survey was requested by Captain Hendrik de Freder after he obtained the land on 26 September 1722.

The lot turns out to measure 1000 Surinamese acres (430 hectares), the post of the plantation is located on the south of it nearby the mangrove.

Adjactent are the land of Paul David Gebert (to the east), and Sommelsdijk fortress (to the south).

The selection of posts of measurement in the mangrove is explained in the notes to the right of the map.

The map was signed by the land surveyor on 2 February 1732 and ratified on 11 April 1732 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of 66 Rhineland rods = 115 ‘strepen’.
