Design for a brick provisions store
Rotabel, Nicolaas Laurens
Title Leupe: "Plan van een nieuw magazijn van vivres te bouwen binnen de forteresse Zeelandia."
This is a first draft of a new provisions store in the outer fort constructed completely of brick by Lieutenant in the Engineering Corps and Inspector Nicolaas Laurens Robatel in 1788. In September that year it was sent to the Directors in the Netherlands, with an alternative plan for a part-brick building by master carpenter Jacob Wijnbergen. The plan by Major Böhm, however, was chosen in the end.
Scale-bar of 60 Rhineland feet = [approximately 1 : 120].
At the rear side the following is written: "No. 7, Register 17, part 1, folio 88." Marked “Depôt des cartes, plans et journaux de la Marine.”
Taken from: mission-report of Governor-General Wichers from 27 September 1788.
