Plan of the bridge of fort Nieuw Amsterdam

Title Leupe: "Plann van de brukke, dewelke over de groote gragt legt, hoe deselve zal verandert worden" (fort Nieuw-Amsterdam)”.

This is an anonymous 1785 design proposing the reconstruction of the piers of the drawbridge over the main moat in brick instead of wood. Nonetheless, when the bridge was finally rebuilt in 1791, wooden piers were used again.

At the rear side the following is written: "Register 17, part [,,,], folio 90." Marked “Depôt des cartes, plans et journaux de la Marine.”
