Gamron and the island Hormuz

In December 1628 left his directorship in Surat. Before returning to Batavia he first sailed with a fleet to the Persian city of Gamron, present-day Bandar Abbas, opposite which lies the island of Hormuz. After arriving in February 1629, Van den Broecke visited the governor at the castle of Hormuz and stayed here for some time. Here they heard of the passing of the Shah of Persia. After obtaining some salt and other products, the fleet returned to Surat. This image shows the city Gamron (Bandar Abbas), four Dutch ships and a map of the island Hormuz.
