Depiction of Nenets (Samoyeds)

In the foreground, the clothing and equipment of two Nenets, the people inhabiting this part of the arctic, is depicted. In the background, various episodes of the encounter between the Dutch and the Nenets which occurred in the last few days of August. Among other things, we see how the Dutch demonstrate a musket by shooting a stone into pieces.
