Design for a village at the Coromatibo Creek
Georgi, Christiaan Samson
Title Leupe: "Plantage de cent ackres pour une famille"
This map projects a village near the border of Suriname and French Guyana for handful of families. It was probably designed or copied by the mapmaker Georgi as part of his report on the exploration of the Coromaribo Creek in 1758. This hence might be a copy of a French design. See the ‘Overgekomen brieven van Suriname’ from 1758 part II (no 74 La B) in the Nationaal Archief for the instruction given to Georgi during this mission.
