Map of the Rietwijk plantation

Title Leupe: Kaart van de Plantagie Rietwyk, gelegen tusschen de Crusou en Attowaribo of Bottel Kreken.
This map shows the Rietwijk plantation (indicated with the letters A-F); which lays at the Perica, Broulou and Bottel creeks.
The survey was requested by the owner; Sir Jacobus Beeloo, to document his ownership of the border area at the east end of the plantation (lower side of the map, D-F).
Earlier transactions of the depicted land are mentioned in the annotations on the right side of the map.
The land turns out to measure 990 Surinamese acres (425,7 hectares).
The De Hoop plantation lies to the south of the land (to the left on the map), the Sorbo plantation to its north (to the right on the map), and the Boubordia plantation to its east (below on the map).
The map was signed by the land surveyor on 22 January 1734 and ratified on 14 August 1736 in Paramaribo.
Scale of 60 Chains of 5 ½ Rhineland rods = 108 ‘strepen’.
