Anoniem / Anonymous
Title Leupe: Situatiekaart van de Plantagie Nieuw Mocha.
This map shows the Nieuw Mocha plantation, north of the Cottica River.
The colours likely indicate the various crops, although the legend does not specify which colour corresponds to which crops. The extent of the fields is given in the legend in Surinamese acres (0,43 hectares).
Two new pieces of land to the north of the older ones are ready for cultivation, above them a forest grows.
A tropical and mangrove forest grows to the south of the cultivated fields.
The camp of the plantation lies south of the fields, at the riverside. The various buildings are indicated in the legend (letters A-O).
Scale of 50 Chains of 66 Rhineland rods = 80 ‘strepen’.
