Map of a lot owned by Pierre Chevallier

Title Leupe: Kaart van een stuk land, gelegen tusschen de Plantagien Geertruydenberg en Beekvliet (later Riddersburg).

This map shows a lot owned by Sir Chevallier (indicated with the letters A-D), situated north of the Cottica River.

The survey was requested by Pierre Moeyle Chevallier himself after he bought the land from the widow of Johan Ville Pontoux.

The lot turns out to measure 200 Surinamese acres (86 hectares).

The land of mr. Goeijer lays to the west (to the left on the map) of the lot, and the land of the widow of Johan Ville Pontoux to its east (to the right on the map).

The map was signed by the land surveyor on 8 March 1732 and ratified on 11 April 1732 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 60 Chains of 5 ½ Rhineland rods= 124 ‘strepen’.
