Map of Sir du Peijrou's plantation
Eyden, Jan Marini van der
Title Leupe: Kaart van een stuk land gelegen in de rivier Cottica, links in het afvaren, gelegen in de bogt van het 1e tabbetje, gelegen tegen over het Eiland van Egtensveen.
This map demarcates the land of Sir du Peijrou on the south bank (above on the map) of the Cottica river.
The survey was made on request of Sir Pierre du Peijrou, Council member of the Noble Court of Civil Justice, to measure the land he obtained on 30 January 1730 from the Governor-General.
The government in Paramaribo prohibits Pierre du Peijrou to dam or hinder the creeks to the north (below on the map) of his lot.
The lot turns out to measure 500 Surinamese acres (215 hectares).
The lot lays west of the plantation belonging to Barend Adriaansen Rubsina and east of land belonging to the Society of Surinam.
The map was signed by the surveyor on 2 September 1730 and ratified on 5 October 1730 in Paramaribo.
Scale of 60 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 112 ‘strepen’.
