This map provides an overview of the plantations and woodlands upstream of the confluence of the Suriname River with the Marechals Creek, close to Weltevreden and Bergendal. It was made by the surveyor Adrianus Hendricus Helledaij (also: Helleday) in connection with the assignment of new woodlands on the creek. Helledaij arrived in Surinam in 1768 and died in Paramaribo in 1787.
North is lower right.
