Map of landownership of Daniel and Isaac Pichot and other plantation owners near Paulus Creek
Eyden, Jan Marini van der
Title Leupe: Map of several plots of land belonging to H.H. Pichot and others, located in the Paulus Creek, of Daniel Pichot
This map shows the partition of land north (top of the map) the Paulus Creek.
In comparison to the maps made about ten years earlier (VEL1798) it can be noticed the family Pichot gained much land and that the Jew Rodrigo Gimene disappeared altogether.
A case has emerged between these Pichots and the black widow of the earlier unmentioned Isaac Pichot requested this land survey of Daniel Pichot’s property.
Daniel Pichot’s own land turns out to still measure a thousand Surinamese acres (0,43 Hectares)
Isaac Pichot equally hold a thousand acres for years already.
Six hundred sixty four acres added to the east (right on the map) of Isaac Pichot’s initial land are depicted separately under the letter B.
This last piece of land originally belonged to Adriaan van Buijl and N.N. Dufour.
The land surveyor Jan Marini van der Eijden made use of earlier maps produced by Daniel Meusnier and Roeland de Meester to draw out this new partition of land.
Nearby estates are also mentioned and measured: that of N.N. Lambert lays to Isaac Pichot’s property, that of Du Four and Van Buijl to the east of it and that of Isaac Labadie to the west of the land of Daniel Pichot.
The Paulus Creek is partially depicted to the south (bottom of the map) of these lands, with special attention given to the pier and attacked buildings on the land of Isaac Pichot.
In addition, Van der Eijden drew a house near the river on the land of N.N. Lambert.
Certificate of measurement and notes included.
Scale of 80 Chains of 66 Rhineland feet = 75 'strepen'.
