Map of the Canary and Azores Islands

Title Leupe: De Vlaamsche en Canarische Eilanden.

This map shows the Flemish islands or Azores, as well as the Canary and Capeverdian Islands and part of the Iberian peninsula near Lisbon. The rhumb lines used on the Mercator projection reveal the map was meant to be used for navigation. The West African coast is coloured in various shades to distinguish its sections. A splash of ink is left next to the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores.
