Across the entire foreground are indigenous vessels, corra-corra, which together form the Tidorese and Ternatian battle fleet. The ships fly indigenous and Dutch flags. Depicted are many native oarsmen, helmsmen, captains and musicians. On the left the corra corra of Prince Otusan, festooned at the stern with human heads as trophies.
