This watercolour drawing shows the views of Fort Nassau from the north. From this illustration it can be deduced that the outer side of the walls and the four half-bastions forming the corners of the renovated fort were all covered with wooden palisades, as, according to engravings in Hartsinck’s Beschryving, was the case for the earlier fortifications.
