Title Leupe: De Port Marie met project van retrenchementen en fortres.

This map, made by Geerts some ten years after the initiative had been taken to impove Curaçao's defenses by the States-General and several suggestions to this purposes had been made, makes clear that little has come of these plans. The design of Esdré and Carel Schrijver (see e.g. VEL222A-C) is only projected, that of Ribbius is not even drawn. Soundings and relief are depicted. In addition, a 'project for a retrangement' on the beach north of (upper left on the map) the projected fort is visible.
