Plan for a bastion for the Piscadera, Saint Michiel and Porto Marie Bays

This draft is part of a series (VEL1462-VEL1472), constituting a plan to fortify the Piscadera, Saint Michiel and Porto Marie Bays with a small battery and fort. The design for a bastion shown here improves earlier sketches by decreasing the angles of the corners, enlarging the sidewalls and deepening the canals. These improvements are depicted through two profiles and two floor plans. The lower profile, for instance, shows ho the new depth of the canal hinders the use of ladders during sieges.
