Map of the Java plantation
Gardin, P.
Title Leupe: Kaart van de Plantagie Java, strekkende tot aan de Rits van Norandibo (links in 't opvaren).
This map shows the Java Plantation belonging to A.B. Lemmers (A-F), west of the Mot Creek.
A.B. Lemmers requested the survey after obtaining the land on 26 January 1732.
The new lot turns out to measure 453 Surinamese acres (194,8 hectares) which include the a piece of 117 Surinamese acres (50,3 hectares) which actually belonged to the Society of Suriname.
This map here is a copy made in 1748 of the 1733 original, meant to verify that the piece of 117 acres indeed belongs to the Java plantation.
A blaka-beri forest stretches over the western side of the plantation.
The map was signed on 27 January 1733 and ratified on 16 March 1733 in Paramaribo.
Scale of 50 Chains of 5 1/2 Rhineland rod = 100 ‘strepen’.
