Map of the land of the widow Schaffo

Title Leupe: Kaart van de plantagien tusschen Waterwyk en de Eendragt gelegen.

This map shows the Eendracht and Waterwijk plantations as well as the land belonging to the widow of Adriaan Schaffo laying on both banks of the Perica creek.

The widow Schaffo requested the survey to measure the land that fell into her possession on 23 January 1708 (indicated with the letters A-K).

Her land turns out to measure 2150 Surinamese acres (924,5 hectares).

The Moolwijk plantation is depicted to its east.

The map was signed by the land surveyor on 2 March 1732 and ratified on 11 April 1732 in Paramaribo.

Scale of 100 Chains of 5 ½ Rhineland rods = 123 ‘strepen’.
